ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREAn apparatus for detecting a ground fault in anungrounded DC power supply system having a DC power supplyconnected by positive and negative lines to a load, an ACvoltage is selectively applied between a positive line andground or between a negative line and ground. A current sen-sor including an electrical coil surrounding the positive andnegative lines is responsive to significant alternating cur-rent in one of the lines, when the AC voltage is applied tothe line and the line has a ground fault, to thereby indicatethe fault.
