The system is used in underground mining and tunnelling, provision is made for improving and strengthening support systems for galleries, made up from support profiles and warping mats. With the original defective warping units retained, warping mats (3-5) stretchable in front of the leading edge of the support profiles (1-3) are laid close on top of each other, braced against each other, and connected to the profiles. The space between old and new warping systems, and between these and the inner flanks of the profiles may be filled with hydraulically setting materials.
