RF surgical instrument with power control from the surgical handle

The surgical handle (2) of the RF surgical instrument possesses first and second actuation elements (16, 18) which are preferably designed as touch contact switches. These actuation elements (16, 18) are connected to the adjustment member (24) of the RF generator (22) of the RF surgical instrument in such a way that actuation of the first actuation element (16) causes increased supply of the RF power at the output (26), whereas actuation of the second actuation element (18) causes reduced supply of the RF power at the output (26). The surgeon can thus adjust the desired RF power himself from the surgical handle (2) during an operation; this applies both to the operative state "cutting" and to the operative state "coagulation".
