The invention relates to the use of interferon-gamma containing preparations for the systemic treatment of autoimmune diseases, viral diseases and malignant diseases in humans in a dosage of 0.1 to 2 million international reference units (I.U.) or about 10-200 mu g as daily dose, to be administered at intervals ranging from days to months, based on an adult patient weighing about 60 kg and having a body surface area of 1.7 m2.
