Process for dephenolating waste water from coking plants including the following steps: introducing the waste water in a reverse osmosis installation, mixing the concentrate coming out of the reverse osmosis installation with the tar produced by the coking plant, submitting the mixture to phase separation and introducing the phenol charged tar in a tar distillation installation.
