The invention relates to a dental or orthodontic encircling clasp for alignment of the teeth and possesses a base or base plate for attachment on a tooth and at least one mounting wing having mutually parallel edges on the gingival and occlusal sides on this base plate. The distal side edge of this base plate stands at an acute angle relative to the occlusal edge in order to align it to the longitudinal axis of the tooth to be treated. The mesial side edge of the mounting wing stands at a right angle or an obtuse angle relative to the occlusal edge, so that any action of an oblique force due to biting, chewing or exploratory movements of the tongue is avoided.
