The invention relates to instruments of the colour harmony selector type on which mutually harmonious colours may be read off directly or indirectly. A selector of this type consists of a set of four rotary concentric superimposable discs having windows and having eighteen spoked colour wheels. These wheels comprise the numerical formulae of 1,000 colours and optionally also the colours themselves. From the window discs it is possible to read off the colours whose constants of harmony are K = 1, K = 2, K = 1/2 after opening the windows to angular distances of 120 DEG , 60 DEG and 180 DEG . From the wheels it is possible to read off directly the series of colours. It also consists of a set of four direct-read-off triangular gratings, two for the scales and the planes of saturations, and two others for the scales and the planes of values.
