The invention relates to the checking and verification of gas turbines. The device forming the subject of the invention is characterised in particular in that it takes the form of a simulator device automatically simulating the actual start-up process, operation and shut down of the gas turbine installation without turning the shafts of the turbines 16, 16', or injecting fuel, or effecting the ignition, this simulator device being functionally connected to the outputs 18, 33, 34 of the automatic control system 7, on which appear the start-up signals for the starter motor 5, the control signals for the ignition assembly 4 and a check signal which confirms the receipt by the automatic control system 7 of the signal indicating the presence of the flame in the combustion chambers 2. The invention may be used for tests on test benches, for checking and the tests carried out after adjustments, for the detection of faults difficult to trace in the gas turbine installation and its control system.
