A test piece (1), of the carre material as the construction is exposed to the carre corrosive medium. Before exposure, it is made radioactive using thermal neutrons in an atomic reaction. Radioactive nuclides of iron, molybdenum, chromium, manganese can be formed. Corrosion dissolves the nuclides. The reduced activity of the test piece can be measured using a gamma rectroscopy detector (4).
