In structures, particularly made of light alloy, particularly castings in sand for light, strong wheels with extreme aerodynamics, particularly for competition motorcycles, the structural thicknesses, which went from 5 mm average tyre rim thickness to 5.5 mm average thickness of the spokes, have been reduced, to 4 mm and 4.5 mm respectively, with a considerable reduction of 1 mm, extended to all the walls of the structure of the wheel. The lap, between the tyre rim and the spokes takes place according to a section with entry and exit edges, mainly tapered, rhomboidal, with gentle, entirely gradual tapering, without a gap, both incoming and outgoing. The section of the lap presents angles of inclination of about 15 degrees and an increase between 0 and 28 mm, distributed over 110 mm, with an average gradient of 50%, encompassing an area of about 15.5 cm2. The lap on the wheel hub, in section, has a downwards pulling, symmetrical outline, therefore with a preferred direction of travel and concerns an area of the wheel hub, which is less than that of the tyre rim by about 20%.
