A METHOD FOR RECOVERING HYDROCARBONSFROM FRACTURED OR HIGHLY STRATIFIEDLOW VISCOSITY SUBSURFACE RESERVOIRSABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE:Hydrocarbons are recovered from a highlystratified or fractured low viscosity subsurfacereservoir by means of at least one injection well and atleast one production well. Initially a high viscosityblocking fluid is injected through the injection wellinto the reservoir to fill the fractures or thief zoneswithin the reservoir and create a fluid mobilitybarrier. Thereafter, a low viscosity flooding fluid isinjected for driving hydrocarbons into the reservoirtoward the production well.
