The sole of the sports shoe which is partic. suitable for indoor hand ball is made of rubber or rubbery material. The tread side (1) of the sole is covered with a number of protuberances (6) which cling to the ground with a suction effect. Along the edges of the sole (5) are two ro more parallel ridges (10). the depth of the grooves in between the ridges (10) amounts to between one and four millimetres. The protuberances (6), preferably seven of them together are grouped in polygon shaped clusters (7) which are separated from each other by grooves (11).
