A device (41), which turns the non-rotating part (35) of a rotary transmission leadthrough (28) about its axis and sets it in accordance with the respective position of the heading face (2), is part of this control means. This rotary transmission leadthrough (28) is located with the control device (41) outside the cutting drum (4, 5) on the drum supporting arm (3) and its rotating part (29) rotates at a speed corresponding to the cutting drum (4, 5). A special transmission (30) makes the transmission connection between the supporting-arm transmission and the rotating part (29) of the rotary transmission leadthrough (28).
