The device is for coupling and uncoupling gripper rails in a transfer press, with couplings provided in the ends of the gripper rails (28,29). These consist of locking bolt (26) with anchor (27) hich can push against surfaces (39) or (56) and centering pins (31,43). The rails are held during times of coupling or uncoupling. Lines (60) are connected to an energy source via cables (17,18). The locks (25) activate the bolt (26) and are located before the separation line (19) of the two rails.
