To prepare active substances entrapped in liposomes using liposomes prepared from amphiphilic substances, previously prepared liposomes are subjected to a temporary increase in the membrane permeability by addition of at least one innocuous detergent in low concentration. During this period of increased membrane permeability, the entry of the active substance or substances from an external medium containing the liposomes into the interior of the liposomes is brought about.
