Method of producing light-fast and weather-resistant anodised and coloured layers on aluminium and aluminium alloys

Extruded sections made of aluminium and aluminium alloys are anodically oxidised and coloured in a dying bath containing a metal salt and an organic dye component. The sections are subsequently introduced into an aqueous solution containing nickel and fluoride ions and then consolidated in hot water or steam.
