Method for stopping vehicles travelling in the wrong direction of travel on motorways, highways and other roads

The technical structure consists of two contact fields which are laid transversely in the road pavement a small distance apart. By means of this duplex method, it becomes possible to control a conventional traffic light system with an additional acoustic warning facility. The basic circuit diagram clarifies the main functions. Contact field A lies in front of contact field B (viewed in the correct direction of travel) and is coupled to a switch-reset delaying element. If a1 is triggered before b1 (normal correct direction of travel) the warning device is not switched on. If b1 is activated before a1, the limit switch amplifier with the automatic reset is immediately switched on and triggers the warning devices via c1. After an adjustable set time, the system is automatically reset to the standby mode.
