PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance and to reduce the attacking action on an opposite material by blending prescribed percentages of Cr, C, P, B, Mo, Mn, Fe, Ni and Cu and by forming a prescribed hardened and tempered structure. CONSTITUTION:The titled sintered material consists of, by weight, 0.5-8% Cr, 2-5% C, 0.02-5% P and/or B, 0.05-3% Mo, 0.05-3% Mn and the balance Fe. The material may further contain 0.1-5% Ni and/or Cu. The material has =90% density ratio and a hardened or hardened and tempered structure contg. 20-60% by area of a carbide-base hard phase dispersed finely and uniformly in the martensite-base matrix. The sintered material attacks scarcely its opposite material and has superior wear resistance.
