COMPOSITION FOR STERILIZING CONTACT LENS AND STERILIZATION OF CONTACT LENS USING SAID COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition to dissolve an oxidizing agent earlier than a reducing agent in opening a packed material and adding the composition to water, by packing the oxidizing agent to sterilize contact lens and the reducing agent to make the oxidizing agent remaining after the treatment harmless into the same packed material. CONSTITUTION:An oxidizing agent (preferably chloride of lime, chloramine T or chlorinated isocyanuric acid) to sterilize contact lens and a reducing agent (preferably sodium thiosulfate or ascorbic acid) to make the oxidizing agent remaining harmless are into the same packed material to give the title composition which will not react in the packed material and dissolves the oxidizing agent earlier than the reducing agent when the packed material is opened and the composition is added to water. The oxidizing agent is in a powdery or granular state and the reducing agent is a tablet covered with a coating agent, foamed tablet or packed in a bag. Both the agents are stored in a three-side sealed packed material of aluminum, packed material of aluminum stick or moistureproof plastic container.
