PURPOSE:To provide high sensitivity to the titled material, enhance the halftone dot quality and reduce the occurrence of black pinholes by forming a silver halide emulsion layer contg. a specified photosensitizing dye and hide gelatin on a support. CONSTITUTION:On a support, a silver halide emulsion layer is formed contg. =1 kinds of photosensitizing dyes selected from the compounds represented by formula I-III[where each of Z1-6 is a group of atoms required to complete a (benz) oxazole ring, a (benz)thiazole ring, a naphthoselenazole ring or other ring together with C and N; each of Q1, Q2 and Q3, Q4 is a group of atoms required to complete a 4- thiazolidinone ring, a 4-imidazolidinone ring or other ring together with C; each of R1-6 is (un)substituted alkyl; each of L1-3 is (un)substituted alkyl or aryl; X- is an anion; and (m) is 0 or 1] and hydrophilic colloid part or all of which is of hide gelatin. Thus, blackened and nonblackened parts are distinguished clearly, and a high contrast image having high halftone dots and lines is obtd.
