In order to reduce to a minimum the number of profiles necessary for the different requirements when connecting sandwich panels, in particular for vehicle bodies made of sandwich panels, as connecting element a single rail (1) is proposed as a hollow profile which contains essentially all of the individual elements required for receiving the body parts.
