PURPOSE:To economically and efficiently provide a high quality quartz sand by performing a wet scrubbing treatment with a high speed kneader at a specific moisture content when a raw material quartz sand is treated by the wet scrubbing means, a magnetic ore-dressing means, levigating means, etc., to raise the quality of the quartz. CONSTITUTION:In a process for producing a high quality quartz sand by treating a raw material quartz sand by a wet scrubbing means, magnetic ore-dressing means, levigating means, etc., the scrubbing means is performed under the water content of the raw material quartz sand adjusted to 15-20% with a high speed kneader. For example, a reverse flow type mixer can be suitably utilized as the high speed mixer.
