PURPOSE:To make all data transmittable without fail independent of steering wheel operation, by transmitting the signal between a control board and a fixed control unit in an optical way. CONSTITUTION:Even when two spokes are moved to some extent by the rotative operation of a steering wheel 30, a shaft 46 revolutes round the outside of external gears 39 and 45 whereby pinion gears 47 and 48 rotate with each other in the same way so that a relative position of each of these gears 39 and 45 will not be varied at all. Therefore, each of optical paths connecting photodiodes PD1-PD3 on a steering control board 43 to phototransistors PT1-PT3 at a fixed member side as well as each of optical paths connecting photodiodes PD4-PD6 at the fixed member side to phototransistors PT4-PT6 on the steering control board 43 are in no case intercepted, nor at least a triad simultaneously.
