PURPOSE:To continuously grind the different kinds of works by discriminating the kind of a work by the signal supplied from a measuring mechanism and installing a signal processor which sends out the position adjusting signal on the basis of the result of the discrimination for the kind of the work, into a table driving mechanism and a grindstone transfer part. CONSTITUTION:The dimension of each part of different kinds of workpieces which are sent in mixed state from a loading part 10 is measured by a measuring mechanism 22. The measurement signal is input into a signal processor C to discriminate the kind of the work, and the driving mechanism (hydraulic cylinder) of a worktable 12 and a grindstone transfer part 14 are controlled on the basis of the result of the discrimination, and a grindstone is advanced and retreated for the ground surface of the work according to the kind of the work, and the grinding position is adjusted, and the work can be grinding- worked properly.
