PURPOSE:To obtain a composite casting embedded with ceramics in a casting metal with good productivity by mounting a cylindrical ceramic molding into a die for centrifugal casting apart at a space therefrom, pouring a molten metal into the molding and casting centrifugally said metal. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical ceramic molding 23 is mounted via a spacer 22 into a die 21 for centrifugal casting and both ends thereof are fixed by a sand mold band 24. The spacer 22 made preferably of the same material as the casting metal is used. The die 21 is rotated and the molten metal is poured from a pouring spout 25 into the molding 23. The molten metal passes through the porous molding 23 and is packed into the space between the die 21 and the molding 23, by which an outside layer 3 is formed. The molten metal is further impregnated into the molding 23 to form an insert layer and an inside layer 4 is formed of the remaining molten metal. The composite ceramic-metal casting in which the ceramic molding 23 and the casting metal are hardly separable and which has excellent strength is obtd. by the above-mentioned method.
