Vertically rotating fluidised-bed combustion for clinical waste, sewage sludge, pasty, dusty, liquid and granular waste matter

In this type of combustion for clinical waste, sewage sludge and various waste matter, the outlets of primary-air nozzles (12), pilot burners (9, 10) and the waste-matter lances (13, 13a) arranged higher up are directed tangentially at the periphery in the lower part of the round combustion chamber (1) towards a circular motion or swirl (14) of certain diameter and produce vertically rotating fluidised-bed combustion. In this arrangement, the secondary-air nozzles (16) distributed at the periphery of the throat (2) and assisting burners (19, 20) staggered at the periphery of the round afterburning chamber (3) produce a swirl (21) in the opposite direction to the swirl (14), and the turbulence intentionally produced and the intermixing of the unburned gases prevents the undesirable strand formation and CO-formation and brings about optimum afterburning of the unburned gases. The primary air is supplied by means of primary-air nozzles (5) arranged cascade-like in a circle and at the same time the ash is discharged centrally with short air blasts via the ash-discharge opening (8) with compressed air via the air lances (7) which lead into the primary-air nozzles (5).
