The roof (1) of the ambulance vehicle is fitted with a sun roof (3). In order to prevent patients being upset by glare a roll blind is provided. It consist of a roll (7) with spring-loaded rotary operation, carrying a non-transparent sheet, which can be pulled out by handle (12). The relevant feature of the invention is the entire structure of the roll is recessed in a trough (6) formed in the plastic inner roof casing (5). On the underside of the roof casing a cover (10) is provided leaving a slot (11) wide enough to pass the blind sheet.
