The snow chain for a bicycle wheel consists of two lengths of chain (5,6) with a hook and eye at each end of each length (5) or (6) to enable them to be joined together to form each length into a loop. The two loops (5,6) are joined to each other by a third chain (7) which runs in zig-zag fashion from one length to the other. The chains are fitted to the tyres so that the third chain (7) passes over the tyre and the chains (5,6) form polygons on each side of the wheel with the chain (7) attached to the corners of the polygon. USE/ADVANTAGE - The snow chain can be used on bicycles fitted with rim brakes.
