In an extruder with a planetary motion screw arrangement (A) several smaller screws move around a central rotating screw. On the smaller planetary screws tapered ends are provided on the outlet side. On the inlet side of the said screws a bevelled edge is provided. Pivots with domed ends are machined on the outlet ends of the screws and are supported on the end plate. USE/ADVANTAGE - (A) is used in PVC extrusion. (A) reduces the possibility of damage by solid particles within the polymer melt.
