Device for aligning and spacing plants in gardening, consisting of two aluminium stakes connected by a synthetic tape which winds automatically into a casing fixed onto one of the stakes
It consists of two aluminium stakes 1, 2 of square cross section, which are tapered 3 and graduated 6 from 1 to 40 centimetres in order to measure the separations between flower beds. They are connected by a synthetic tape 13 with a length of 6 metres and graduated every 10 centimetres for aligning and visually measuring the separations of plants. On one of the stakes, a plastic casing 8 contains another casing with an internal spring 11 on which the tape is wound. When the stakes are moved apart, the tape 13 emerges, and the spring 11 makes it possible to return the tape into the casing 8 automatically. A slide 16 on the stake with the casing allows the tape to be locked at the desired length. In the case of a longer tape, it will be wound in the casing using an inner spool 18 instead of and at the location of the spring, by an external crank handle 19. IMAGE
