PURPOSE:To allow the engraving of master paper by a wet process while suppressing the temp. rise of a developing soln. in a developing section of a hermetic type by passing outdoor air from the developing section to a fixing section at the time of subjecting an electrophotographic sensitive material to engraving by the wet process. CONSTITUTION:The outdoor air is passed from the developing section to the fixing section at the time of subjecting the master paper to the engraving by the wet process. More specifically, an outdoor intake port 8 is provided in the lower part on the rear surface of the device body 90 of the electrophotographic engraving machine by the wet process. The flow of the outdoor air directed toward the fixing section 6 through the developing section 5' of the hermetic type from the outdoor intake port 8 is generated by the rotation of a fan 61 constituting the fixing section 6. The radiation of heat from the fixing section 6 is prevented and the developing section 5' itself is cooled by this outdoor air flow. The temp. rise of the developing soln. in the developing section of the hermetic type is suppressed in this way at the time of subjecting the master paper to the continuous engraving by the wet process and, therefore, the deterioration of the properties of the developing soln. is prevented and the good machine plate for printing is obtd. at all times.
