The invention relates to a process for preparing very pure antihaemophilic factor (FVIIIc). This process for preparing very pure antihaemophilic factor (FVIIIc) predominantly devoid of von Willebrand factor, comprising a step of purification by ion exchange chromatography using a chromatography column comprising a gel, comprising a step of adsorption of the antihaemophilic factor on the gel of the aforementioned column and a step of desorption of the purified antihaemophilic factor which is collected, is characterised. An antihaemophilic factor devoid of the majority of the von Willebrand factor and having an activity as high as 250 IU/mg of proteins is thereby obtained.
