NEW MATERIAL: Pure culture of bacteria selected from bacteria having ATCC number 53848, 53849, 53850, 53851, 53852 and 53853, a genetic equivalent thereof, or a mixture thereof, and having lipase-encoding genetic material. ;USE: To produce a new lipase suitable for a detergent composition, active within the ranges of application temperature and pH of a synthetic detergent, and compatible with the synthetic detergent composition. ;PROCESS: The bacterial are obtained by selecting a strain capable of producing the lipase from an environment containing a halogenated organic compound such as 2,6-dichlorotoluene by using a well-known method, and isolating the strain.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
