HOE 90/B 016 Cellular binding protein having affinity for the regulatory region of the human papilloma virus type 18 The invention relates to a DNA sequence which codes for the cellular DNA-binding protein RS1, which specifically binds to the 28 bp E2 subregion of the upstream regulatory region (URR) of the human papilloma virus (HPV), and to the protein RS1 and proteins which are similar to RS1.
