The target includes a box (2) with a central aperture in its front surface. A photosensitive array is placed behind the window, and comprises a number of segments. A digital display (4) indicates a number corresponding to the particular segment which has been struck by the laser beam. A display shows graphically the position of impact of the beam on an enlarged diagram of the aperture. A sound warning device (3) is activated when the beam strikes the sensor behind the aperture.
