An arrangement for adjusting the reference mirror of a sensor on the vertically arranged optical axis of a telescope, includes a theodolite. The theodolite has an autocollimation unit on a vertically arranged holding plate. The vertical circle of the theodolite is fixed at 90 degrees. A liq. filled container is located below the inlet opening, whose surface partially reflects light from the autocollimation unit. The theodolite is adjusted until the light reflected returns to the collimator. The liq. used is pref. silicone oil. ADVANTAGE - The arrangement is efficient and reliable, and is highly accurate.
