Rapid charges in absorption spectra, esp. in photobiological research spacious or measured, without deleterious effect on the specimens, using light from multiple sources, eg. diodes or flashing discharge lamps which has selected monochrome components filtered into an optical pulse cable to produce bursts of polychromatic light. The fraction of the light not absorbed or scattered on passage through to specimen is deleted and filtered on to a high resolutione photo-detector, whose monochromatic pulses are amplified for use as a symetrical AC signal for a sepn and storage unit for individual signals with a compensatory addn. Further processing involves a micro-computer providing an electronic timing signal and carrying a binary coding pattern. USE - For examining rapid light induced absorption spectral changes in chloroplasts of green leaves, and chemically induced changes in botanical or animal cell structures.
