A roller shutter is wound on to a shaft mounted inside a casing (11). The shaft is driven through gears enclosed in a gearbox (32) at the end of the shaft. The gearbox input shaft (361) is mounted in a cylindrical housing (33) which is supported in a sleeve (32) at its upper end. The lower end (363) of the cylindrical housing has a flange by which it is attached to the shaft casing. The lower end of the gearbox input shaft is connected by a universal joint (362) to the shutter actuating shaft. ADVANTAGE - Facility for crank linkage coupling to the gearbox without opening the casing.
