The IC engine has valves with adjustable control times fitted in the piston (3). The valve seal is attached to the piston floor and the valve elements are controlled by a guide rod acting on a rocker arm. One cam (4) suffices for the inlet (1) and outlet (2) valves and the opening times are determined by the adjustable rise of the cam.
