Procedure for cleaning ground water and seepage water - bubbles of carbon di:oxide are used to carry impurities to the water surface, and emulsions and suspended solids removedact Dwg 1/3
In a new procedure for cleaning ground-water, soluble gas bubbles (PrI) are introduced into the water, and float to the surface (GSp) bringing with them the impurities container in the water. The gas used moves the pH value of the water in the direction of greater acidity, and forms bubbles which are less buoyant than air bubbles having the same temperature. In particular, the rate of rise of the bubbles at 20 degrees C sould be less than 0/5 m/s, and the size of the bubbles should be less than the size of air bubbles having the same temperature and pressure. Bubbles of less than one micrometer in size should be achievable at normal conditions. Carbon dioxide is a suitable gas, as are some mixtures of gasses which contain carbon dioxide. USE/ADVANTAGE - This invention is used in the cleaning of ground-water and seepage water, and enables the contaminated water to be cleaned in situ. of not only dissolved substances but also of emulsions and suspended solids.
