A process for producing a profiled slat, esp. for motor vehicles, which consists of a plastic member with a carrier on one side and a decorative strip on the other, includes forming a connection between the carrier and decorative strip, and feeding them through an extruder head where they are coated with plastic. One section is placed in a mould and is held in position. The mould is then closed and the decorative strip is supported so that the edges and the end section are free. Plastic material is then injected into the mould. ADVANTAGE - The process is simple and economical and the profiled slat is of high quality.
