Multi-spectral image recorder with image scanner - has narrow band spectral filters, with middle wavelengths distributed over entire visible range

A drum scanner has an opto-electronic detector and a CCD line scanner, or semiconductor surface sensor. The scanner contains a number of narrow band spectral filters with middle wavelengths distributed over the entire visible spectral range, and a black filter, all in the optical beam path between the colour image to be scanned and the detector. Under electronic control, the colour image original can be controllably replaced by a structureless white image document, or covered by it. The two documents are scanned and digitalised. An electronic evaluator forms identical spectral image point scanning values in real time of the image recording for all individually calibrated image points. USE/ADVANTAGE - Colour image chrominance analysis, with use of different light sources over visible spectral range, and simple calibration for all faults.
