An apparatus intended for measuring the speed of sedimentation of erythrocytes and for carrying out other similar analyses by photometric reading, comprising one or more seats (9, 11) where test tubes P, inclined in limited proportions with respect to the vertical, are housed. Guide means (13) are provided for a slide (15) capable of sliding parallel to the test tube(s) (P) introduced into the seat(s) for the reading. Elements (19A, 19B) for transmitting and receiving an optical signal which passes through the or each test tube (P) during the reading scan are mounted on this slide (15).
