VOLATILE RUST PREVENTIVE COMPOSITION AND VOLATILE RUST PREVENTIVE SHEET

PURPOSE:To obtain a volatile rust preventive compsn. excellent in a rust prevention effect for zinc-base galvanized steel sheet by incorporating benzotriazole or its deriv and hexamethylenetetramine as components of the rust preventive compsn. CONSTITUTION:This volatile rust preventive compsn. contains benzotriazole, methylbenzotriazole, etc., or derivs. of these and hexamethylenetetramine as components, and if necessary, amine salt of caprylic acid is further compounded thereto. This rust preventive compsn. is effective under severe conditions of high temp. and high humidity for a steel sheet the one surface or both surfaces of which are plated with zinc as the essential component. Proper compounding ratios of the above components are about 50-300 pts.wt. of benzotriazole or the like to 100 pts.wt. of hexamethylenetetramine and about 10-50 pts.wt. of amine salt of caprylic acid to 100 pts.wt. of the rust preventive compsn. By depositing the compsn. above described on a supporting body, an effective volatile rust preventive sheet is obtd. It is preferable to incorporate caprylic acid by 0.2-3.5g/m2 to this sheet.
