PURPOSE:To obtain a foamy depilatory agent capable of removing hair without inflicting pain in depilation from the human body surface and emitting unpleasant smell in the depilation by blending calcium thioglycolate with a water swellable clay mineral. CONSTITUTION:A foamy depilatory agent is obtained by blending calcium thioglycolate with one or two or more water swellable clay minerals (one of colloidal hydrous aluminum silicate having a three-layer structure, e.g. montmorillonite, saponite or hectorite). The aforementioned foamy depilatory agent is a depilatory agent without inflicting pain, emitting unpleasant smell and causing any problems in clogging of valves, etc. Furthermore, one or two or more inorganic salts (e.g. sodium sulfate) can be blended to prevent sagging. The above-mentioned depilatory agent is simply used.
