PURPOSE:Firstly to eliminate the need for welding, etc., and to facilitate production as this structural body can be molded simply by forming slits and expanding, secondly to obtain the structural body which is excellent in terms of strength as this body is integrally molded, thirdly to prevent the generation of twists in the expanded metal part near connecting edges, and fourthly to obtain the structural body which is prevented of the nonuniformity in shape. CONSTITUTION:A base material 7 having integrally molded frame parts 5 made of a metal and a flat plate part 6 is prepd. After the many slits 8 are formed zigzag in the longitudinal L direction of the flat plate part 6, the base material is expanded in the direction perpendicular thereof, by which the flat plat part 6 is formed as the expanded metal part. Further, the connecting edges 14 of the flame parts 5 are properly previously inclined at approximately the same angle as the angle of the bond parts of the expanded metal part or are formed to nearly the same waveform shape as the waveform shape of the expanded metal part.
