PURPOSE:To permit the feed of electricity by a preparatory generator when sharp retreat operation is carried out, by carrying out transition to deceleration control after carrying out the control operation for maintaining the prescribed number of revolution of a main engine for a set time. CONSTITUTION:The main-engine revolution-speed detecting signal S2 detected by a revolution speed detector 2 and the main-engine revolution-speed setting signal S3 which is set and maintained by a revolution-speed setting device 3 are compared in a revolution speed comparator 4, and a differential signal S4 is obtained. A revolution speed increase/decrease judging device 6 judges if the main-engine revolution speed is to be increased, decreased, or maintained on the basis of the differential signal S4. A main-engine is controlled so that the main-engine revolution-speed detection signal S2 comes close to the main- engine revolution-speed setting signal S3 according to the result of the judgement. While, the above-described control operation is performed for a set time by a maintenance-time setting device 10 and a timer 11, and transition to deceleration control is performed. The no-power-off switching between a main-shaft driving generator and a preparatory generator within the set time is permitted.
