METHOD FOR REMOVING SCALE ON BEAM IN WALKING BEAM TYPE HEATING FURNACE

PURPOSE:To automatically remove a deposited material on a beam in a short time and to prevent the development of burning mark by interrupting heating operation on a steel slab and ejecting gas from the injection nozzle in a header fitted to a long-sized member carried in a furnace. CONSTITUTION:The steel slab charged into the walking beam type heating furnace 1 through a carry-in table 4 is positioned in the furnace widthwise direction with its longitudinal direction of this slab, heated and carried, and after executing heating treatment, the slab is taken out through a carry-out table 5. In the above heating furnace 1, at the time of interrupting the heating operation due to periodical repair, etc., the long-sized member waited outside of the furnace is charged into the furnace and carried with the walking beam. On this long-sized member, a header setting a gas injection nozzle in the longitudinal direction is fitted. This nozzle is faced the setting positions of the walking beam and the fixed beam and gas is ejected toward skid setting part of the beam during carrying the long-sized member. By this method, the deposited scale around skid button is automatically, easily and surely removed.
