INTEGRAL MOLDING OF FRP SHELL BODY OF AUTOMOBILE AND FRP SHELL BODY MADE THEREBY

PURPOSE:To manufacture a seameless, lightweight and strong shell body at low cost by a method wherein the predetermined number of layers and layer thickness of the predetermined reinforcing base material are laminated to one another by smearing rein matrix and further respective parts of wall, ceiling and floor are reinforced with the predetermined reinforcing material and heat insulating material by bonding each other and, after hardening, the resultant assembly is demolded and finally openings and carbody mounting parts are trimmed. CONSTITUTION:A chase 7 having the shape of the shell of a camping car is fixed upside down to a truck frame 11. Releasant 18 and gelcoat resin 19 are applied in the order named over the whole surface of the inner wall of said chase. After that, the predetermined number of layers and layer thickness of the predetermined glass fiber are laminated to one another by hand lay-up or spray-up at respective parts such as wall parts A, a ceiling part B, a floor part C and the joint parts D between the wall part and the floor part by smearing unsaturated polyester resin as matrix. After the resultant assembly is left as it is and hardened, the assembly is demolded after the completion of hardening and opening parts and carbody mounting parts, each of which is reinforced with the floor, are trimmed and placed and mounted onto the frame of an automobile.
