PURPOSE:To improve the navigation efficiency of an investigation/ observation vessel by constituting an ocean investigation/ observation system so that a plurality of container laboratories having the prescribed measurement equipment are transferred by a loading device between the investigation/observation vessel and a maintenance center on the land. CONSTITUTION:In the specific investigation and observation, a container laboratory 2 having the necessary measurement equipment is delivered from a maintenance center 1 and mounted in a prescribed division of an investigation/ observation vessel 3, and fixed through twist lock, and connected with the equipment in a fixed laboratory in the vessel 3. Then, the investigation/ observation vessel 3 is navigated to a prescribed sea area, and then investigation/observation is carried out, and after investigation and observation are completed, the investigation/observation vessel 3 is brought to the vicinity of the maintenance center 1. Then, the container laboratory 2 mounted in the vessel 3 is landed and transported to the maintenance center 1, and maintenance and inspection are carried out, and the container laboratory 2 necessary for the next investigation and observation is mounted.
